Tutoring explained
Who is called a tutor?
A tutor is someone who teaches one student, or a very small group, outside the classroom — usually to fix something specific rather than to deliver a whole curriculum to a room. In practice the word covers an enormous range: a university student earning weekend money, a retired schoolteacher, a full-time subject specialist. What the title does not tell you is how well any of them teach. That is why this site publishes the curriculum, the reviews and the monthly reports rather than leaning on the word.
